Our custom-made furniture will be arriving late September and with everything else being completed by then we are on track to open in Early October. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors and guests alike.
Thank you to all those who braved such hot weather to come and view the apartments in Phase One of Kernow. It was great to see such a good turnout and really good to hear such positive comments.
This type of investment property is new to Charters Towers but we believe that owners will see a good return over time especially once future development plans get underway. With the uniqueness of the development as a whole and because the apartments are different to what is currently available, we hope to see a good level of short-stay visitors who are interested in staying somewhere for the novelty factor. Even if owning an apartment here is not your cup of tea, we do hope you will consider us for your friends, family and business colleagues when visiting The Towers.
We also were pleased to have our ideas of more purpose-built retirement housing reinforced as we have always believed that Charters Towers is perfect for retirees. We will keep you posted on the progress of Phase Two!
Anyone who was unable to visit at the weekend but would still like to see the apartments, please call on 0447 557 200 to arrange a viewing.
Please note that there are no apartments in Phase One which are accessible by wheelchair although access to the pool area is possible.
We will be building purpose-built disability units in future stages of the development, but with the structure of the old building it was not feasible to make rooms the correct size or obtain the proper gradients for ramps.
We are looking forward to being able to provide new and well-designed apartments which are wheelchair-friendly. Our apologies to those who this might affect in the short term.
You are welcome to pop down and view our apartments on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February between 11 and 4.30pm. We look forward to seeing you.
We have one Show Flat (Apartment 10) and you will be able to pick up a brochure with the information on the development.
Please see separate note on wheelchair access.
Sitting round the pool at sundown is now a very pleasant experience, especially sitting amidst lovely green lawns, palms strewn with lights, and our quirky pool bar. The going has been slow but we are pleased with the result and there isn’t much to do now in order to get the units signed off.
Anyone wishing to view the apartments should contact Matthew Geaney (0418 777 817).
All the units have now been painted both inside and out, with finishing touches and detailing now being carried out. The units look inviting, fresh and elegant, with beautiful polished floors.
Internal and external lighting are in the process of being installed, and the landscaping is underway with paths and car ports almost done. We shall soon be putting in the plants to give the gardens and homely and welcoming outlook.
It has been difficult to show pictures which don’t include something that is unfinished, but progress over the last few weeks has been encouraging so we look forward to uploading better photos without dangling wires, mud or unpainted surfaces!
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for our Lakeside Land Blocks which will form part of Phase Two at Kernow Charters Towers, which will include a lake, restaurant and island venue ideal for weddings and parties.
Our Charters Towers Neighbourhood Centre were looking for much-needed space for a Respite Centre and so Fraser House has been granted to them for a period of a year to provide this service to the town. Bright and cheery, the staff have renovated a section of the building with help from local tradies and the centre is now in operation. It is hoped that we can work with the Neighbourhood Centre to provide more services in this building for people in town as well as people staying at Kernow, such as a spa, therapy centre and other similar facilities.
